1A FREESTYLE AND X FREESTYLE

The Freestyle Divisions are made up of two divisions: 1A Freestyle and X Freestyle.

1A Freestyle Division: Freestyle performances with one long-spinning string trick yo-yo. This division will have a prelim and final round with the top 10 scores advancing to the final.

X Freestyle Divisions: Multiple divisions for various styles of play: Dual Hand (2A + 3A), 4A, and 5A. Each division is a one-round final.

  • Dual Hand (2A + 3A): Freestyle performances involve two looping yo-yos (2A) or two long-spinning string trick yo-yos (3A).

  • 4A: Freestyle performances with one or more yo-yos where the string is not attached to the yo-yo(s).

  • 5A: Freestyle performances with one or more yo-yos where the string is attached to a counterweight instead of the competitor’s finger.
